World traveller, writer, photographer and nurse, Ben McGarry wanted a unique website built to his specifications. There's plenty of travelling blogs out there, so it was important for Ben's website to stand out not only aesthetically but in ease of use.
Ben had a distinct vision as to what he wanted and needed his website to accomplish, both logistically and aesthetically. I needed to produce something that would showcase his unique style and his show off his world travels in equal measure.
Webflow was the obvious choice for the Content Managment System. It allows Ben to be able to add and remove articles, update the gallery section, even update the slider on the home page with his latest pieces. All delivered with lightning fast web hosting and a responsive frame work.
The site was built using HTML5 standards and SCHEMA was introduced as a local business. All HTML, CSS and JS are minified, with responsive image compression on inline images, all of this is delivered by the lightning fast Amazon S3 Content Delivery Network.
The layout needed to be somewhat standard, with the exceptions of Ben's signature colours and flourishes. At it's heart this site is a large Blog, so it needed to feel familiar without being mundane and ordinary.
